國際自由車環台賽來到第4站高雄，這一站路線快要160公里，是賽程傍邊最長的，考驗選手體耐力，高雄市長陳其邁專程參預為中華隊加油打氣。
高雄市長陳其邁：「從高雄的我們的流行音樂中間愛河入手下手動身，到鳳山然後到佛光山、美濃、六龜、旗山、田寮、阿蓮，然後沿著台1線又回到了我們的愛河，那這個有山海河港都有，可以說是有上山又下海，可以說是變化最多、難度最高，挑戰性也最多的處所。」
高雄站線路全長快要160公里，是環台賽傍邊最長的一段，更是選手衝刺成就拉開領先距離的兵家必爭之地。
